Designer's Note
“The new Arabica project in Hong Kong is located in The Mills shopping center. For this significant venue, a simple and functional design is proposed. Two counters are placed: a front one that acts as a large white lantern with a carefully crafted brass countertop where all the Arabica equipment for coffee preparation is arranged. This way, the front view is framed as a lit white window where orders can be placed.
The ceiling and the back wall are covered with wooden slats with a triangular section that form a curve, adding greater dynamism to this small space. These slats change color depending on their position, creating a small kinetic sculpture. On the sides, two large mirrors are installed, making the space appear larger and doubling the interior light.”
