Designer's Note
“% Arabica Al Ain Jimi draws inspiration from the iconic garden oasis of Al Ain City. It uses rotated and shifted forms to create an open, double-sided retreat for people to enjoy coffee, relax, and socialize at the heart of the shopping mall. In a palette of clean white and warm natural wood, its delicate linear lighting enhances a soft and floating atmosphere, contrasting sharply with the solid forms; these features jointly create a transparent, relaxed, and locally characteristic coffee space.
The coffee bar serves as the visual and functional center. With layered recessed structure and light-shadow definition, it enhances the sense of enclosure and visual focus, making the bar a core stage for visitors from both sides to fully experience the coffee-making process. The “oasis pocket” area is composed of displaced and enclosed volumes. Soft curves and clean lines create an intimate zone within the open space. Suspended % logos, like water droplets, float above, enhancing the gentle and poetic ambiance. The long benches on both sides welcome visitors from all directions. Unobstructed and open, they provide both a leisure seating area and a waiting area for pickup.
Rooted in the spirit of the Ain Oasis, the store balances between solidity and lightness, openness and intimacy. It integrates local nature with brand aesthetics, translating local culture into space – perfectly interpreting the concept of Arabica: seeing the world through coffee.”
