Designer's Note
“In Canada, where winter sports are deeply ingrained in the culture, Toronto’s Sherway Gardens is surrounded by more than 20 skating rinks. This is why within this vast mall, this small store was designed with the concept of a “rink” in mind.
A single trace in a world of pure white ice, the gently curving white formations lead seamlessly from the seating counters up to the kitchen counter. % shaped pendant lights, inspired by the ice particles that rise after a run, are reflected in the mirrored ceiling, creating a sparkling effects that is reminiscent of glistening ice.
In the somewhat emotional atmosphere of the icy world, the store captures and cherishes the memory of a fleeting moment in time.”
