Designer's Note
“Hong Kong International Airport is one of the busiest passenger airports in the world. Among over 220 shops and 60 restaurants throughout the airport, you can find the % Arabica store located on level 6, at Terminal 1’s Departures East Hall.
The kitchen area is right at the main entrance, designed to welcome as many customers as possible. The store’s shape is inspired by an aircraft’s cabin, featuring a combination of many white curved bars. The design incorporates a counter table that accommodates customers with large luggage when ordering and a cozy waiting bench on the opposite side. Customers can also easily find the entrance to the seating area, where there is a long line of stool seats with stunning airplane views. To the left of the cabin, a window to the roasting room is placed for ordering beans. The design of the iconic bean cellar and merchandise shelf also harmonizes seamlessly in shape and color with the store’s overall aesthetic.”
